Golf Course

How was your latest day on a golf course? Today many golfers repeatedly claim that a bad day on the golf course is better than the best day at work. I think there are very few of us who will argue with that popular statement.

Whether we are male or female, young or old, our goal is the same. It is nice to have a sense of accomplishment when finishing a round of golf. It does not have to be the best round you ever played.

We would like to escape from our concerns at home and at the office. While playing a round of golf we get to spend some time devoting ourselves to a great game.

During golf tournament play there is competition between the players. For a golfer on a golf course, it is not enough to have a better score than the competition. As golfers work their way through the course, they tend to focus more on their own play than that of the others. It is more important to get the golf swing right.

Golfers are competing against the golf course and not the other players in the contest. It is not until the end of a round of golf that the scores are tallied. Once you have completed a round you can settle your wagers and predict what will happen at the next encounter.

It also has been said that the true measure of a person can be found on a golf course. That is where patience and integrity often are put to the test. You can tell a lot about a golfer by the way that person faces challenges and makes tough decisions on a course. Other people will be watching you, albeit from a distance and often without your knowing.

Depending on the particular golf course on which you choose to play, the golf course conditions such as the cut of the greens, the length of the fairway grass and the condition of the tee boxes can vary. This may not be a matter of concern if you happen to have the same golf swing Tiger has.

Most people believe that private golf courses and country clubs will offer the best golf course conditions. Many public golf courses have better facilities. There are several public golf courses that are better to play than some of the high-priced courses.

Any golf course is going to have to have more than a name alone if it is going to develop a good reputation. An owner or operator of any golf course has the power to create a positive or negative environment.

An unpopular course owner is not going to be a big problem because you will not see that person during your playing time. For the next couple of hours the golfers are going to be in a rather solitary situation.

Playing the same golf course repeatedly allows golfers to become better at the game at one particular golf course. If you want to become a better golfer you will need to play at some other golf courses. At other golf courses you have the change to encounter a whole new set of obstacles and difficulties.

I think David Nevogt provides the best golf instruction.
